The monastery is well known for monumental art and as a mausoleum of important Serbs from Carnojevic to Obrenovic dynasty and variety of decorative frescos .
After Krušedol we continue our trip to Maradik , a nearby picturesque village where we will have a cup of coffee and visit the Ethno house , which is over 150 years old. It was built in mud and straw and it holds authentic historical exhibits. The enterer of the house shows how people used to live back in the old days.
Our next stop is in baroque town of Sremski Karlovci , once a hub of the cultural and political life of the Serbs. We will visit the oldest Serbian High School , the Orthodox Cathedral of St.Nicolas, the Patriarchy Court with treasury and a well known Wine cellar of Živanovic family, where we will feed our soul and body with famous Bermet and other local wines of Srem. Also worth visiting is the museum of honey.
We continue our trip to Subotica , the city located at the northern part of the Republic of Serbia, along the border to Hungary / at present, the city and its surrounding municipalities have about 150.000 inhabitants: Hungarians, Croats, Bunjevac, Serbs and other nationalities/ .
Overnight including a dinner with tambourine music will be nearby, at Palic lake, which is only 8 km from Subotica and is one of the most popular resorts in Vojvodina with 160 years of tourist tradition .
Day 2
After a plentiful breakfast we will enjoy in everything that this place has to offer: lake, sports fields, fishing in the fish ponds, horse riding, sunbathing etc..
A tour of Palic lake and its sights, the Luisa Villa, Water tower, Little inn ...The architecture of Palic is famous for a great number of beautiful villas built in the secession style with flower ornaments. Lunch at “Majkin salaš” with tambourine music.
A panoramic tour of Subotica : The City Hall built in modern style of the times: Hungarian art nouveau ,The Theater, The Synagogue, The Cathedral, The Orthodox Church with stain glass windows of Paja Jovanovic...
Return to Belgrade in the evening.
